Ever since I heard they were going to do an aliens VS Predator movie, I have been giddy like a kid in a candy store. I first started getting into the whole aliens/predators series when I was a kid, (remember the old Darkhorse comic's ?).
This is a movie that should have been made a long time ago, when the predator and alien movie's were still in fresh in everybody's mind, but why wait until almost a decade later to make it ?. Only the true fans like myself will remember thease 2 monsters. Everybody else will be like, "oh, that's pretty cool, but where did this idea come from"? dam you hollywood! Ah well, I don't care what anybody else has to say about it, from the trailers I have patiently downloaded (everything from the teaser to the complete 2 min trailer) this movie will kick ass,and bringing Lance Henrikson (Aliens,ALiens II,Aliens 3) to the movie is just the icing on the cake.
Childish boyhood fanstasy you say ? maybe, but I don't care, out of all the movies hollywood has done on comic book's IE:spiderman 1&2, Daredevil, X-Men 1&2,Punisher 1989 &2004 versions. This one will be the best, because it doesn't have a hero who will save the day, it has blood,guts and a lot of fucking killing each other,a true batttle with only a small group of humans stuck in the middle of this age-old conflict, perfect. The only thing that makes my ass itch is they never included the director of the predator movie's in the project, why ???. Oh well, from the trailer's and tidbits I have seen, they pretty much stuck to the orignal predators, with a few modifications of course because they are younger and shit, but other then that, it looks a bitchin movie, one that I will be glad to spend 4.75 to go see.
So, if your bored on the night of August 13th and have the need to see mindless killing, awesome special effects and a (hopefully) decent plot. Then this is the movie for you. If not, I'm sure you could go see "The Princess Diaries 2" instead.
